The Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program is taught on an ongoing basis by the core faculty, which consists of composers, writers, historians, and directors. The core faculty is enriched by adjunct faculty and master teachers who come into the program to teach special sections of the curriculum. They include many of Broadway, opera, and experimental theatre's most experienced composers, bookwriters, lyricists, and directors.

Besides the core faculty and master teachers, consulting directors and guest actors are continuously on tap to provide dramaturgical support for collaborative teams.

Also, throughout the two years, special guests with specific areas of expertise come in to provide students with valuable insights on the whole spectrum of musical theatre, from Broadway and opera to contemporary and avant-garde music theatre and music in ethnic and political theatre.

The core faculty teach and/or facilitate all writing workshops and seminars and provide students with continuity for all seminars, writing workshops, and the thesis projects.
