Biography
Currently the executive director of The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College in Westchester, the largest professional presenter of music, dance, theater and film in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. From 2002 – 2007, he was the founding executive director of the Skirball Center at NYU. From 1993 – 2000, he was the Associate Producer of The Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival. While there he served as associate producer on four Public Theater/NYSF Broadway productions, including THE TEMPEST, BRING IN ‘DA NOISE, BRING IN ‘DA FUNK (four 1996 Tony Awards), ON THE TOWN and THE WILD PARTY by Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe. From 1998 – 2002 he was the Artistic Director of The Songbook Series at Joe’s Pub in The Public Theater in New York City, which received the Backstage Bistro Award in 2001. Prior to joining the Public Theater, Hausam was a theater, film and television literary agent at International Creative Management, where he represented Wolfe, LaChiusa, Anna Deavere Smith, and Pulitzer Prize winning playwrights Suzan-Lori Parks and Doug Wright, among other artists. In 2007, for NYMF, he produced WITH GLEE, a new musical by John Gregor, who is a graduate of Tisch NYU GMTWP.
